Whirlwind Week

We survived our second full week of first grade as well as our first week of preschool. The week went by so fast! I think I blinked, and now it is over.

My mom was in town for the week. It was great to spend time with her and catch up on everything we've been missing in each other's lives. And of course Caleb was ecstatic to hang out with Bushia! The week went by so fast, I didn't even take pictures. :( On Wednesday we made a trip up to Prescott, AZ. Not sure if I'll do that again...not much to see. I suppose they have some different festivals there around the town square that may be worth the trip....and the weather! That was the best part about the city. The temperature was in the mid 80s and it was perfect! We took a walk down Whiskey Row and then drove to the Granite Dells. The second best part about the day was lunch. We stopped at a little hole-in-the-wall called the Waffle Iron. Some scrambled hash, and a few waffles with strawberries and ice cream. DE-licious!

We had back to school night for Noah on Thursday where Eric and I got to meet his teacher and get the skinny on her curriculum. He will FINALLY start having homework on Monday, as well as beginning his first spelling unit. We are ready! I also got him signed up for Spanish which will begin next week. Tonight was his first birthday party of the year (for a friend at school), and we have another housewarming party tomorrow at his friend Max's. Speaking of kid birthday parties, Caleb was invited to his first party next weekend...he is only 2 and according to him he has no friends!

Caleb seems to enjoy school. I think he spends a LOT of time clutching to his teacher. After only two hours each day he has come home smelling like her perfume for the rest of the day! He is like a new kid with the potty training. Only one accident all week during a nap and we are no longer on "scheduled" potty breaks. He finally tells us when he has to go. It was like a switch went on in his brain and it is amazing!

Eric is working, working, working. I woke up the other night at 11:45 pm, and heard him outside our window in the backyard still working! Good gravy he is busy this time of year. I remember, this too, shall pass.
