Halloween

We were sort of in a state of transition around Halloween this year….unsure of whether or not we should trick-or-treat in our new neighborhood, or stay near our building in the city.  In the end, we decided it best to stay near where we were sleeping that night and opted to trick-or-treat in the city, which ultimately afforded an entirely new Halloween experience!

The boys had a costume parade at school that morning and thankfully Dad was able to make it!
Caleb was a tad bit spooky in his skeleton costume...
Noah did a great job leading his buddy class through the parade….our little leader in training!
We decided to head out for an early dinner to get in some daylight trick-or-treating...
 These boys…..getting too big.
And here is how our trick-or-treating began….in a strip mall.  Talk about efficiency!
 We didn't miss one stop!
Not even the liquor store! Haha!
It's still daylight and we needed to take a break.
Jonah only approached this man behind the safety of his stroller.  Smart kid.
It's getting dark….time to head back to the building.
 These were some tired boys!
But after about 20 minutes of cartoons and a few pieces of candy, they were ready for round 2!  We started at the top and worked our way down the stairs.
There is a second grade teacher who lives here!  She had the most decorations by far!
By the time we rounded the restaurants on the first floor of our building, Caleb was spent!  Can you blame him….look how FULL his bag is!
This was the outcast pile….  :)
Because yes, my children are OCD and sorted all the different types!

Halloween Happenings

There was so much happening around our house throughout the month of October.  One of the best parts was watching Baby Jonah get so excited about all the SPOOKY decorations....and having Noah and Caleb help decorate the house and try on different costumes throughout the month.  Here we are in action....
heading to the Hawaii Kai Towne Center Spooktacular
the whole gang, ready to go!
a costume contest
 pictures with Ms. Hawaii, USA!
 spooky cupcakes!
 haunted house  at school
 carving pumpkins
 eating pumpkins :)
 stirring it up
 painting pumpkins
 separating seeds
Kindergartners getting ready for the school costume parade
a large scene from the parade
 there goes Noah!
getting ready for trick or treating....by decorating the driveway with chalk
 our pumpkins!
 our little monster
a short break after round 1.....yes, Noah has no shirt on!
the little monster swiping candy! His favorite houses were the one's where he had to encounter no people and the bowl of candy was set out for a free grab!
 this is post round 2...
 and, it's 7:00....we are done!

Whew, I'm spent!  Now I understand why I've been so beat all month.

Pumpkin Patch

A few weekends ago, we headed to a local pumpkin patch for some fall fun in the sun.
Waimanalo Country Farms hosts a patch where I assume they ship in pumpkins from the mainland.
 Can't really beat the scenery.

Our fun included....
(instead of pumpkin chunkin') golf ball launching at pumpkins,

 hunting for the PERFECT pumpkin,

 a corn maze,
and a train ride for the boys!

We passed on the petting zoo, but laughed as we passed the turtle and goat friends. :)

Happy Halloween Eve!
