Sports Update

Caleb's soccer season is in full swing. His team has yet to win a game but they are definitely the cutest boys out there! Caleb is a riot. Everything he does on the soccer field, he does in slow motion. He is usually off by himself, nowhere near the ball, just wandering. Very cute when you are four years old...probably not so cute for a high school athlete. One of these days he is going to break out and play soccer as hard as he wrestles with his brother and neighborhood friends. When that time comes...WATCH OUT! For now, he is having fun and proud to be a part of his own team and wear his own uniform. No more sitting around at Noah's games all the time!

Here he is at his first practice back in February...

and again during a game a few weeks later. Yes that is a grown man in a Clifford costume and it was not Halloween.

Noah's basketball season has begun and things are going great. He is on the same team as last year, with the AMAZING coach. Seriously, Eric and I can not say enough nice things about this guy. He is so basketball smart, and so tough on the kids, but is still so compassionate and caring. The boys are playing in a third and fourth grade league ensuring that more basketball rules will be enforced. Things like traveling and double dribbling. But as it is, most other teams still do it, without being called for it. :(
The boys are doing so well and are able to hold their own against older and TALLER competition. Almost every other team has girls on i,t and let me assure you a 9 or 10 year old girl is a GIANT next to Noah and his friends. But the boys are fast and so good at defense that it helps to balance the play. Noah scored his first basket on an offensive rebound this weekend and he played incredible defense. After the game he received several compliments from parents about his on the ball defense. It is so fun to see him actually start to "get it" when it comes to sports.
