Baby News

Most family and friends know by now, but for those faithful blog stalkers, I mean readers, who follow our sweet little family without actually knowing us, we have announced the expected arrival of baby number three in early July, 2011.
The BIG question of baby's gender will remain a secret, even to mommy and daddy, until the birthday. However, feel free to take your best guess as many folks feel "in the know" based on my mood, how I'm carrying, when I got pregnant, what I eat, etc. Here are the facts....I feel tired and chubby, you know that awkward in between stage where none of my normal clothes fit, but my tummy isn't substantial enough to require maternity clothes. As Eric put it, "It's that stage where you look at a girl and think, 'Is she pregnant, or does she just drink too much beer?'" :) I have some nausea, no true morning sickness. I eat anything and everything, because that's how I roll when pregnant. I'm fairly crabby, because now I have an excuse to be. I have no cravings. I gained 8 pounds during my first trimester...oops, but that included a holiday trip to STL where I indulged in Bushia's Christmas cookies, Ahhshha's fondue, Steak and Shake, Imo's pizza, Zia's, and Ted Drewes. Oh, and it could have been the fried mushrooms, potato skins, and 50 trashed wings we had at our first dinner back home. I mean, seriously, who eats like that? Apparently me.
On a more serious note, we are extremely excited to be having another baby. I am trying to enjoy all the moments of being pregnant, as the memories of past pregnancies seem to flush away as the kiddos were born. I can hardly remember them now as infants. Thank goodness for cameras. The boys are as excited as a 7 and a 4 year old boy can get. So basically I get no reaction if any from them. Obviously, it's still too early for Caleb to really "get" that Mom is having another baby. It has however added a new twist to one of their favorite, torture your brother, games. The game is repeat...where they copy exactly whatever the other is saying, simply to annoy the other. They way the game used to end, besides tears, was by the initial speaker saying, "I'm a girl," which is clearly too embarrassing for the other to repeat. The ending has now changed to, "I'm pregnant."
So stay tuned for a barrage of pregnancy updates and photos of my growing belly (that starts so soon with #3). If that's not enough to send you running far away....you must be family.
Here I am, looking oh so glorious, at 11 weeks. Sick.

  1. Ooooh--I'm a faithful blog stalker! :) Whatever...you are very cute pregnant! I remember the first time around! And I think I gained at least half that over the holidays and I am NOT pregnant. I laughed out loud (literally) at your boys' game because Xavier does the same thing...to me. I usually end it by saying "I want to go to bed!"
