October Wrap-Up

The end of October (and the beginning of November) have been a rough one for us. We have all been passing around a terrible cold, with Mom getting the worst of it. And to top that off, I pulled a rib muscle (or possibly bruised/cracked a rib) while coughing and sneezing one day. Probably one of the worst injuries for constant pain that I have ever experienced. Dad was in Hawaii for a week, and the boys and I went to two Fall Festivals. Mom of the year, right? :) They won LOTS of candy, took a hay ride, ran through a hay maze, and played in numerous bounce houses and slides. All the while I was trying not to cough on everyone who walked past. On Thursday, Noah received an award at a school assembly for super student of the semester! Caleb and I were so proud and sent pictures from our phone for Dad to enjoy.
Noah and I hiked Camelback mountain on the last Friday of the month. Noah's first attempt and he made it all the way to the top! We have lost or broke all three of our cameras so there are no longer any pictures for us to post. Perhaps the Great Thanksgiving Turkey shall bring me one.

Noah won his soccer game 11-0 and he ALMOST scored his first goal! All the parents were so excited and retold the story for me several times. This is because Caleb and I were on a trip to the restroom. He always feels the need at the most convenient of times.

Speaking of Caleb and bathroom visits....he seems to have lost his way during the night. After several mornings in a row of washing sheets, I have broke down and bought pull-ups for night time. I feel like a terrible mom. Caleb is so upset and embarrassed. He literally hid through the entire store until we got outside so no one would see the pull-ups were for him. He also locked himself in the bathroom to put one on before bed and quickly cover them with his pajamas before Noah would see him. However, don't kid yourself, that embarrassment did not stop him from peeing in the pull-up. Ugh. I am not ready to re-fight this battle. I am all over letting him sleep in pull-ups for now.

For Halloween, the boys dressed up as a TV (Noah) and Buzz Lightyear (Caleb). The looked so cute and Noah was very proud of his costume. Several adults along our trick-or-treat route were doting over Noah's costume. One mom even stopped him to take a picture with her cell phone camera. As we have no camera, we had to rely on friends to take pics for us so you all can enjoy my handsome boys. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Dad is back home (and sick too) and I have gotten some medication. We have our first of several visitors here this month and we are looking forward to Thanksgiving (and a quick rib injury recovery).
