Super Slammed Saturday

The day started with a t-ball game at 8:00. Noah is getting the basics of the game down and is having lots of fun with new friends. They play on Saturdays at Chaparral Park where the facilities are extremely nice. Here are a few pics from after one of their games. Although we do not keep score, Noah's team seems to consistently get hits on offense and produce outs on defense. Keep up the good work Cubs!

After a pit stop at home for some refueling and a uniform change, we headed to the Y for a basketball game. Noah's coach is a college coach at a local school, and he is extremely intense. I LOVE IT! Basketball is definitely becoming a favorite sport of Noah's. Eric still helps out with the coaching and it continues to be a wonderful exercise for his patience. :)

After basketball we headed straight to a chess tournament already in session. This was Noah's last tournament before the state championship in two weeks. We wanted him to get some extra practice at a real competition as opposed to playing us....while the tv is on, Caleb is screaming, and distractions run amok. He took a bye the first two rounds, one the third, and lost the last two, for a total of two points. I think the poor kid was wiped out from his long day of activities....and it was only 2:30 at this point. Luckily that was our first and last Saturday of 3 sports for him.
Afterwards, we closed the day with a late lunch, then stopped on the way home at a local resort to enjoy the scenery. The kids played in the grass while mom and dad unwound with a cocktail. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
