Another Weekend Comes and Goes

And our whirlwind weekends continue. Thursday afternoon, our friend Andi came to town for another visit. And when I say we had a whirlwind weekend, I mean we did a whole lot of nothing...for the most part. Dinner Thursday night, and a lot of errands Friday morning, followed by a trip to the Humane Society after school. (More on that to come.)
Saturday morning, Eric and I ran in Pat's Run, leaving Andi to be the soccer mom. The run was very cool. It started outside Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe and continued for 4.2 miles ending at the 42 yard line inside the stadium. You want to talk about a second wind when you get close to the finish....try running through the tunnel, out on the field, being cheered on by the ASU football players along the sidelines and a few thousand people up in the stands, and watching yourself cross the finish line up on the jumbo-tron. Meanwhile, Andi was cheering on Noah to two hits off a pitch and one off the tee at Noah's t-ball game. He was quickly chauffeured to the YMCA for his basketball game. Eric and I had made it just in time for this game and I am so glad we did. Noah played awesome! He scored three baskets and had at least two steals. In this league, you can't steal the ball while an opposing player has possession (or it attempting to dribble :)), so he was actually telegraphing passes. It was so awesome to see his little eyes light up when an opponent picked up his dribble and was looking to pass. Again, so fun.
We spent the rest of the weekend, being lazy and hanging with Andi. She was bombarded with it all....the Wii, Sorry, Zingo, Thomas the Train. Somehow, she miraculously avoided playing Monopoly all weekend. I thought I was the only one that could pull that off. :)
