Five Guys

For those of you looking for a post about a delicious meal of burgers and fries, sorry. My five guys were in my bedroom last night.
After a LONG night of waiting and airline delays, the Ohler children finally landed in Arizona around 1:20 a.m. The arrival was sort of anti-climactic considering what would have been if they would have landed at 8:45, like originally planned...a welcoming crew of 8 in a fairly crowded airport. There was certain to be lots of screams and shouting and jumping up and down. But as it was, at one in the morning, there was me and a handful of cleaners vacuuming the carpets of the airport. I was no less excited however. As the plane was taxiing up to the gate, the butterflies started and my vision became cloudy from the tears welling.
Once we got home safe we were all ready for bed...again. The girls took over Noah's bed and Wil joined the slumber party in my room. Daddy, Noah, Caleb and I in the bed, (praise the Lord for king sized beds!) and Tyler and Wil on the mattress on the floor. Five guys and me. Not quite as catchy as Five Guys and Fries, but way more appealing. As I lie in bed, I was listening to the symphony of sleep in my room...and it was like music to my ears. There was the gargling suction noise, the deep open mouth, lying on your stomach breathing, the not so quiet noise of rolling over and getting situated on a plastic air mattress, the talking, and the semi-snoring. It was wonderful. I couldn't help but lie there and think about how richly blessed my life is and how I like nothing more than to be surrounded by my family.
Here's to a fun-filled, Ohler spring break!
