Renaissance Fair

On President's Day, we headed out to Apache Junction for our first ever visit to a Renaissance Fair. I wasn't sure what to expect. Probably having no expectations was the way to go. One thing I did not expect, but got, was the masses of people! We sat in traffic for over an hour to get into the fair, and that was after the hour long drive to get there. What I have figured is that is an excuse for people to "dress up," (or wear as little clothes as possible) even if it has nothing to do with Renaissance. Sadly, I forgot my camera but I can give you a run down of what pictures would have been....
  • an amazing juggling act
  • almost completely naked pregnant chick with angel wings
  • Uncle Dave, Noah, Caleb, and Megan riding an elephant
  • Noah and Megan on the jousting ride
  • scary couple (girl in a black bra with diamond studs implanted in her skin like buttons on a shirt and her shirtless boyfriend in a kilt with runny eye liner)
  • the kids throwing tomatoes at the insult guy
  • the kids demolishing a funnel cake
  • Noah and Tyler being a part of the bird man's magic show
  • traffic as far as the eye can see

All in all I enjoyed it, and by the time it comes around next year, I may have an urge to go again. As for now, I'm good.

Oh, and thanks Uncle Dave for the toy boat and the wooden sword that has bruised many a shin in the last two days! :)
