Twas the Night Before Leaving...

....and all through the house,
Both the kids were ecstatic, as if the saw a mouse.
The stockings were packed in a suitcase with care,
In hopes that Southwest won't loose them in the air.

The children finally showered and snug in their beds,
While vision's of cousins danced in their heads.
And Eric checking emails, and I on the blog,
Can't settle to sleep...perhaps I should try some eggnog.

The noise from the dryer was the only clatter,
And my tummy is sore from eating too much cookie-dough batter.
Our time in St. Louis will come soon, like a flash,
We'll enjoy friends and family at many a bash.

We are hoping to enjoy the beauty of snow,
Keeping our fingers crossed because you never know.
But presents galore will certainly appear,
Santa not knowing we left AZ is Noah's biggest fear.

We are hoping to make it through the airport rather quick,
but getting around with all our luggage could be a trick.
We have 7 bags to check, none of course look the same,
And our 5 carry-ons, no doubt, people will stare without shame.

"Carry this Noah! Slow down Dad! Caleb, I can't carry you!
If you both stop crying I'll give you some candy to chew.
Let's find a seat quick, we don't want to stall,
Here are some snack's, and some games, and headphones for all!"

Please flight, pass by quick. Traveling with kids is such work.
But we'll remember our theme, don't be a jerk!
It will be worth every tear, every meltdown, and boo hoo,
Because family is waiting for us in The Lou!
