Veteran's Day Celebration at Cochise

Today Noah's school had an assembly honoring the Veterans of the US Armed Forces. As most elementary school assemblies go, it was pure chaos and the kids were all so excited to be out of the classroom and to see their family members at school...especially since the ceremony ended in a parade down Bobcat Boulevard, the main pedestrian walkway through the campus. But even among the chaos it was extremely moving to watch the kids play and sing to the Veteran's who were able to attend the ceremony. And it was an amazing sight to see all the little ones lining the street, waving their flags, and reaching for high fives as the Vets marched down the street.

For those students who have family members on active duty, they asked the families to provide some information and a picture to honor those service men and women as well. Noah and I had gathered some information on our cousin Alan. Al is such a stud, he could have filled the entire bulletin board by himself with all of his honors and awards. Noah was very proud to show him off to his friends!

Thanks Al, Uncle Chris, Big Grandpa, Uncle Sonny, Jimmy and all the men and women who have put their lives on the line, and those continuing to do so, in order for us to enjoy our freedoms.
