Happy Belated Turkey Day!

Is it over already? Thanksgiving weekend was a blur for the Selters! We started Wednesday afternoon with a flight back home to St. Louis to surprise many family and friends. We arrived to Uncle Dave's house late on Wednesday night but did not let that hold back our celebrations! We even had a surprise guest show up! (Shout out to Uncle Drew :))

Thursday was a typical Turkey Day for us filled with good food, good times, and lots of driving. It was complete with Christmas carols in the car, a football game in Grubville, naps in the car, getting lost in St. Peters, and a game of Tripoli where Noah finally got to sit at the table! (He still is too young to play his own hand however.)

Black Friday began for me at 2:50 in the morning. This year's shopping day was extra special as it was my niece, Kristen's first black Friday. She was our line holder while the rest of us shopped...which is totally necessary at Target. Even with the line holder, we still waited over an hour to check out. It always amazes me how shocked and upset people get about this. Really? Do you watch the news? What did you expect? For us, it is all about the experience of beginning the Holiday season and having our own girl time. Shopping is wonderful therapy, especially when buying for others, and having all that time in line for us to gossip makes for a wonderful time! Friday night, we had an old school family night ordering pizza at Uncle Dave's. The grown ups sat around and told stories while the kids went crazy all over the house.

Saturday, it was time to head out to Union for more Thanksgiving! Noah spent most of his time playing in the creek with the other kids breaking only for a hay ride. Caleb spent the day shadowing Grandma Debbie and eating cupcakes. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera with me. Totally a bummer because all of the kids in our extended family are growing up so fast!
All in all, Thanksgiving couldn't have been more perfect. We had, and continue to have so much to be thankful for. As always, our health and our families top the list. But in addition to that, here are four more things we are each thankful for this year, in no particular order...
walking to the mailbox, the Earth, our new house, and cell phones not charging extra for long distance minutes.
