We made it home safely from our annual family vacation. Getting the boys up early after a full week at the beach was not an easy task!
It was a 4.5 hour drive from Seagrove Beach to New Orleans. We stopped for lunch in the Big Easy enjoying a shrimp creole pizza...Mmmm. A three hour flight home put us at our house by 5:30. There is nothing better than coming home from a vacation to a clean house....with clean sheets on all the beds. Although I must admit that as we were landing over the desert mountains I was still feeling that this is not "home." And as we were walking through the airport we had to actually read and follow the signs...as opposed to the mindless traveling through Lambert where we know exactly where to go. Then we got on the wrong shuttle heading back to our car. Rookies. During the drive from the airport to our house, I was thinking, why aren't we on 270? Where is the Dove Mall? That's the home I'm used to.
Still, our bags are unpacked, suitcases put away, boys are bathed, and laundry started. Shocking, yes. Our laundry room floor is already covered with sand! I miss the beach.
I miss my family.
I miss my own bed.
Time for some New Moon and a little shut eye.
