Noah the Science Kid Part II

A couple of weeks ago, I signed Noah up for a program at the University of Hawaii about genes.  It was the first program of its type by the University and I should mention that they did a great job putting it on.  The 1st-3rd grade group required a parent's participation as well...so lucky for me, I got to stay and play with Noah.
They told a story of a new planet of exotic animals, where babies had escaped their mother's cages at the zoo.  It was our job to match the babies to their mommies by using DNA extracted from the food on their bibs and match it to the plants in their mother's habitats.
Here is Noah's DNA model that he built.
And here he is during the DNA extraction.  Pretty cool stuff for the kids...and the science nerd moms and dads.
Afterwards, Noah and I walked around the gardens in the science department.  UH botany students certainly are not lacking on vegetation to care for and study.
