School's Out for Summer!

But not for long….we head back on August 1st  For now….let us enjoy.  The boys had a half day last Thursday for their final day of school and we headed straight to Ko'Olina to the Marriott Ihilani to crash on Dad's hotel room where he was having a conference for work.  We headed straight to the pool and didn't leave for 48 hours….so much summer fun already!

Jonah was obsessed with the phone in the bathroom! He thought that was too cool!
Jonah always wants to jump to someone….even though he is a giant and almost clobbers Caleb moments after this picture. :)
Dad was done with meetings and on his way to dinner! Thankfully he came by the pool to see us. :)
More pool fun on Thursday.
Bushia took this pic right after she dropped the boys and I off at the hotel.  Let the summer fun begin!
The view from the room…up the west coast of Oahu.
Nice lighting with the setting sun :)
 Picturesque.

Friday was spent much the same way as Thursday afternoon….
THrow in a poolside lunch and it was a mighty fine day.

The resort had some hammerhead sharks and stingrays.  We watched a feeding later in the day and those things were going crazy!
We took a long walk around the grounds...

…and headed up the coast for a bit to search for some turtles.  We did see a few but missed out on any photo opps.
We also found a heart in the rocks. <3 p="">

Saturday morning while Dad golfed, Jonah and I walked over to Aulani, the Disney resort to snap a picture with Mickey.  He stood in awe at the sight of him. "Mom, that's the real Mickey?"
But he would go nowhere near that thing.  Not even with mom.
He said, "I want to take a picture from over there!"
Afterwards, we headed straight back to the pool and met Dad and his coworkers and some of their families.  Mom got lots of baby time and Jonah had to get in the middle of all that.
Uncle Tom was a good distraction for Jonah.
Dad, got to be Uncle Eric and give piggy back rides all over the pool!
And by that afternoon, our boys were sunshines out and ready to head home!
 Especially this home body...

Back on It

Sorry about the LONG delay in keeping up with us....unlike the Kardashians, who can afford to hire people to keep you up to date on their lives, I'm working on my own here. :-)
Here comes the onslaught of photos and tidbits to catch you up.  I was going to divide it into several posts, but I'm all about taking the easy way out....when it comes to blogging, anyway.
Starting with last Friday night (the 20th, not 27th....yes that far back!)...with our summer coming to a close we decided to make the most of the remainder of our time.  We headed out to dinner, just the five of us to Cattle Company Steakhouse in Pearl City, very uncharacteristic of our seldom eating red meat family.  And we indulged!  Bread, drinks, pupus, steak, POTATOES (garlic mashed, fries, loaded baked, sweet, you name it), dessert.  It was on.

Saturday morning, the boys had a kool-aid stand in our neighborhood, as our community was having several garage sales.  Sales were slow at first and Eric and I had to approach a few people and offer them money to buy from the stand. Haha.
A little later that morning, we decided it was time for Baby Jonah's first real hair cut.  I have cut his hair previously, as he had several randoms that were crazy, but had waited on the first big boy haircut.  The back curled a bit, but the front is so straight, thin, and stringy.  Just like my hair.  Poor guy.  So big boy cut it is!
He did very good with the clippers, and sat patiently through the entire cut.

And now he is even more handsome, if that is possible!

Later that afternoon, our visitors arrived and we were stoked!  From then on, our week was JAM PACKED with fun! And lots of cousin love!

Sunday morning the boys had their final basketball games for the summer season.
And yes, they were showered with medals, and trophies, and goodies galore!
I missed out on a shot of Caleb's team, but grabbed a few of Noah's...
And with Eric being a coach, we even got some professional buddy photos and a team magnet as a bonus!

After the games, we headed to Kalama beach park in Kailua where I failed to take photos.  Cameras and phones and sand and water just don't mix.  I'm prone to slack on the ocean photos lately.  Dinner at the Shack Sunday night rounded out our weekend.
Monday it was off to Diamond Head for a hike and a picnic, then Waikiki for more swimming!
Tuesday we laid low while our visitors headed back to the beach.  The boys had their first cavities filled at the dentist that day and were so brave!  The dentist was very impressed, even referring to Caleb as "the perfect patient."  We headed out to Blue Water Grill for dinner...so good, and obviously so fun!
Love this picture below.  She just could not get enough of "the baby!"
We were even treated to a post dinner show and parade!
Wednesday morning Eric and I took Caleb to school for a family orientation.  He is the ginormous kindergartner!  He is going to LOVE school.  On this day, he was always first to get in line and follow the teacher, so obedient to her every command.  Very unlike his behavior when I ask him to do something. ;-)
We later headed to Hanauma Bay for some gorgeous weather and amazing snorkeling.  Caleb and Eric even saw a green sea turtle while snorkeling here that day.
Afterwards, we headed home for some afternoon naps in preparation for our big luau that night!

To be continued.....

Wet 'n Wild Hawaii

Can't really beat this deal....buy one day, get the rest of 2012 free!
The boys and I trekked over to Kapolei on Tuesday to try out the only water park on the island.  Needless to say, they LOVED it!  It was the perfect size for them to adventure on their own and still find their way back to Jonah and I in the keiki pool.  And Caleb is exactly 48 inches tall which makes him tall enough to ride all but one slide....which was closed for repairs anyway.
I foresee many days at the water park over the next six months.  One day, the boys may even brave The Shaka!  Looks a bit too steep for me.

The Hawaiian Racers was a favorite...besides the Raging River.   Below you can see Caleb coming down head first!
Anytime you can ride together on a tube is good.
The wind makes it a bit chilly in between slides...and also makes you forget to reapply sunscreen.  Rookie mistake which led to some red shoulders on Noah.
Jonah loved the baby slides with mom....but I think he enjoyed eating the goldfish crackers even more. :)
The lazy river is always fun.  The boys met some friends and connected "ships" to traverse the waters.
Jonah even snuck in a nap!
And of course we ended with juice boxes to prevent a melt down from being buckled into the car seat.

Good times, fun times.

And yesterday, we used these adventures to complete our journal entries.

Summer is in full swing.  I can't believe it is JUNE already!  Ahhh!
