Waimea Valley

Thursday morning Jonah, Bushia, and I headed up to the north shore to visit Waimea Botanical gardens. Bushia has been trying to visit several of the botanical gardens before she heads back to mainland. I have driven past hundreds of times, but had never stopped. The gardens were gorgeous and gigantic. You could seriously spend an entire day wandering the grounds and perhaps still miss something. At the back of the valley there is a waterfall in which visitors are able to swim. I wasn't planning on swimming, however, with just one pretty pretty please from Jonah and I was in! After all, I've let Noah and Caleb swim in a waterfall before, yet still hadn't done so myself. Glad I have Jonah to help me live a little more than I plan to each day. :)

Afterwards, we checked out Opal's Thai in Haleiwa. He doesn't advertise but I had seen his restaurant covered on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We waited a bit for a table as we showed up right at 12:30 for lunch....totally worth the wait. It was delicious Thai food. If I was really into blogging I would have taken pictures and described each of the dishes. However, I'm more of an eater. Opal asked about what we liked and what our favorite Thai dishes were and he made up our order for us! And of course, it was perfect.
Jonah slept in my lap with his head on the table like a high school student sleeping in class. He woke up just in time to enjoy some water from the "awesome" cups and some jasmine rice.
