The Little Things

This kid gets it.
As I was dropping the boys off at school this morning, the fourth grade crossing guard who helped them get out of the car in the car pool lane....him.  He's is who gets it.
My windows were down, so I could hear him well.  As I rolled to a stop he says, seemingly to no one in particular, "Alright folks, here goes!" Opens the door for Noah and Caleb.
"Let's go boys!  Move 'em out.  Single file.  Keep calm. Alrighty then. Nothing to see back here"
And as this young man knows, we keep their (often heavy) backpacks in the front seat which they must then retrieve.  Closes the back door and opens the front.
"Now time for the muscles to come out.  I'm sorry ladies, no pictures! Gentlemen, here are your bags, and ma'am, you have a wonderful day!"
Smiling ear to ear, I respond, "Thanks buddy. You too!"
And as I begin to drive away he turns to his fellow crossing guard and says,
"And that, Kylie, is how you make and adults day."
