Aloha Grandma Debbie

Grandma Debbie made her first trip to the Hawaiian Islands last week.  The boys were fighting for her love and attention all week!  Luckily, she has plenty to go around.  And I think Baby Jonah had her wrapped around his little finger in a matter of seconds.  I can assure you he dearly misses being attended to at every little sound that he makes.  Such a stinker!
Even Noah and Caleb shed a tear or two after waking up last Friday morning, and the realization the Grandma Debbie had left set in.
We did the Makapu'u Lighthouse hike and everyone ventured a little too close to the edge for my liking.  I like to play it safe, play by the rules, and stay on the trail!  Dad likes to give the boys an adventure.  A good balance.
The view at the top never gets old.
We walked to The Shack for dinner one night.  There is Koko Head in the background.  Maybe next trip we can talk Grandma Debbie into hiking it! ;)
Early one afternoon we took Caleb and Jonah to Lanikai beach.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Only to be spoiled by a traumatic incident between Caleb and a man-o-war about an hour or so into our trip.
More on that later.

Noah had his first (and apparently his only) soccer practice of the season.  This is going to be interesting!
More hiking.  This time, at Diamond Head.
We kept a count of all the stairs at the upper level....missing the first few flights.
We also spent an afternoon in Waikiki.  The boys did some swimming before we stopped at Duke's for some snacks.
And on her last day, we drove up to the north shore for some famous food truck shrimp.  Clearly you can see Jonah was not too impressed with the mac salad.

Such fun had by all.
I know Eric is bummed that he was super busy with work and had only limited time to spend with his mom.  I kept telling him that she just wants time with the boys! ;)  And lucky for me, I was able to spend quality time with my mother in law, whom I love and adore.
We can't wait to be together again.  We love our Grandma Debbie!
